Neurodivergent Services

Left of Centre Therapies offers neurodivergent services in the Brisbane area (Caboolture and Albany Creek) for children/adolescents and adults needing support and guidance. If you have been searching for neurodivergence services just outside of Brisbane, we may be able to assist.

Neurodivergence is a term that is referred to a person who thinks and processes differently from the way the majority (referred to as neurotypical) expect.  Neurodivergence includes differences in their organisation, memory, concentration, time, direction, perception, sequencing, and poor listening skills. Neurodivergence include conditions such as Autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia and dyspraxia. Neurodivergence can make living in a largely neurotypical world challenging at times. This can lead to low self-esteem and mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety. At Left of Centre, we do not see neurodivergence as a disability, “less than”, or somehow “broken”. Instead, we see everyone as a valued member of the human race and aim to assist you in finding your true self, as well as strategies to advocate for yourself to make your lifelong journey rewarding, however that may look.

When it comes to neurodivergent affirming therapy, there is often a significant focus on support and interventions for children with developmental conditions or behavioural disorders. Unfortunately, there is not the same level of support when it comes to neurodivergent adult services. Brisbane area locals can now turn to Left of Centre for this type of support, guiding adults through life’s various challenges. We take into account who you are as an individual, not just the diagnosis. This ensures you receive the support you need, on your own terms.

About our neurodiverse affirming services

Our services at our Caboolture and Albany Creek clinic help you work through common challenges associated with being neurodivergent. This might include assistance with socialising, intimate relationships, meeting your professional or academic potential, communicating more effectively, or managing your emotions. Some individuals may also experience sensitivity to sound, smell, sights and tastes, which can make some day-to-day interactions and activities challenging.

We understand that each neurodivergent person faces their own unique situation and will require varying levels of support. This is why we offer a personalised approach to our therapy support, ensuring you feel understood and listened to.

When visiting Left of Centre Therapies for our services, you can be sure you’ll be in safe, understanding hands. Our team has several decades of combined experience and will be able to guide you through your journey on your own terms.
